My wearable art is the most authentic demonstration of who I truly am. I was destined to design jewelry as an artform as soon as I was named "Kohar," which means jewels in Armenian.
"Fine Designs by Pearl" is a collection of one of a kind earrings & necklaces made of semi-precious stones & 14kt gold & sterling silver metals.
As far back as I can remember, I was an artist. I think people are just born to be that way. I know I was! As a little girl, born in the middle of two boys, I was the one who was always, acting, dancing, drawing, making & creating. I received an advertising design degree in college, but then decided to pursue my acting career. After that, I eventually started designing jewelry and had a wholesale business selling to small private boutiques and some celebrities. I took some time off and worked with my husband Alex in his healing arts clinic, had a child Kris, and ran a household, like many of us do.
I missed being creative, and once again drawn to jewelry, decided that I needed to start designing again. Hence “Fine Designs by Pearl” evolved but this time around, it was more about my creativity, my art, than putting out a seasonal line and mass producing. I decided that I wanted to do one of a kind pieces, that’s why I call my work “wearable art”.
Being unique speaks to who I am and what I’m all about, and I believe there are a lot of women out there who feel the same way as I do and want to express themselves and their individuality with their choices in their unique accessories.
By using semi-precious stones and organic materials combined with 14kt gold filled and sterling silver metals, I love to create stand out pieces, which speak to my unique one-of-a-kind fashion style.
